The UConn Global HEED chapter continues to spearhead many growing efforts in Guatemala including Project $1.14. The concept behind this initiative is based on the calculation that if each undergraduate student at UConn were to donate just $1.14, Global HEED would reach its goal of $25,000 for the purchase of an ambulance to serve Calhuitz. The UConn chapter of Global HEED placed colorful donation boxes in all five cultural centers and the student union and organized several fundraising events to promote this cause.
