How Global HEED Helps
Global HEED is committed to expanding and improving upon the efforts of its community partners around the world. By promoting self-efficacy and capacity in its partner organizations, Global HEED ensures that these grassroots community improvements continue to succeed. In the past, Global HEED’s interns, fellows, and directors have provided customized support packages to its partners by providing technical, logistical, operational, organizational, and leadership training in addition to providing seed funding for select pilot projects.
Social investing is the provision and use of finance to generate social, economic and health returns and is part of Global HEED’s mission to create a self-propelling cycle of social change. Our program aims to provide capital for initiatives that bring about maximum sustainable social impact utilizing a limited amount of seed funding. In addition, Global HEED seeks to cultivate connections among multi-disciplinary partner organizations on an international scale.
To accomplish this, Global HEED leverages partnerships with fellow NGOs and community based organizations to assess the needs and concerns of specific communities and evaluate the feasibility of particular projects. Our three primary areas of outreach are:
Education: promote initiatives that provide the skills and knowledge needed for teachers to enhance the worker capital in their community.
Economic Development: support programs that generate sustainable economic value that will raise the standard of living in underdeveloped economies.
